D&D continues the tradition of high-quality craftsmanship that my uncle began more than seventy years ago. To this day, I continue to train others in the same “old-world craftsmanship” that he taught me.

My uncle came from a large, hardworking German family, many of whom were tradesmen. I had the privilege of working with him on many historic homes, and my apprenticeship began on estate homes where attention to detail and quality workmanship were expected on every project. I am a fourth-generation carpenter and painter, as well as a full-service contractor.

By the age of 15, I was learning the fine art of furniture making and wood turning. From a very young age, I remember my brother and me working alongside my uncle. A hammer and paintbrush were never far away.

As I got older, it became clear to me that I had a natural talent for detailed handwork and ornate woodworking. That attention to detail initially led me toward fine furniture, custom-made doors, specialty projects, and the manufacturing of custom architectural millwork.

Fine woodworking and building things have always come naturally to me. Many of my past projects never felt like work. I gained some of my knowledge through school and from my instructors, but I continued to gain most of my experience in the construction industry through hands-on work. Over time, my talents became apparent in the field, and at one point, I was running several crews for my uncle before venturing out on my own.

Today, D&D enjoys a strong reputation for superior detailed craftsmanship, a commitment to excellence, and personal customer service. We have built long-lasting relationships with clients who have continued on as friends.

D&D also maintains long-standing relationships with other professionals in the construction industry, including sub-trades, suppliers, engineers, attorneys, and other trusted industry professionals.

In the mid-1990s, D&D expanded into property management. Many of our clients ask us to manage their homes while they travel, which is a responsibility we take seriously and a reflection of the trust we have earned over the years.
